Do you think it's acceptable to ask bridesmaids to pay for their own makeup and hair? By the time I've brought the dresses, shoes, flowers & gifts, etc, I would have spent around the £180-200 mark per bridesmaids! Didn't know if that comes across as rude/tight?
Courtney Cracknell - I know weddings are very expensive...my opinion on the matter is your asking them to be apart of your day. I paid for everything for my bridesmaids. I'm asking them to be apart of my special day I feel like I should pay. In a way it's like wanting to get married but asking someone else to pay for it. If you can't afford to have bridesmaids don't have them. I understand asking them and if they are happy to pay for themselves then that's great but I felt and wanted to pay for everything just meant I had to save a little more. xx
Emmy Wilson - I have paid for the bridesmaids dresses and flowers, as they are the bits they don't get to choose! I'm asking them to pay for their own shoes, hair and makeup...if they want it! Some of the girls are reusing shoes they already own, and some are doing their own hair and makeup. By asking them to pay I'm not forcing money from them, but giving them a choice over what they have and how much they spend. I think it's perfectly acceptable as long as you're not dictating what they should have and how much it'll cost them.
