What is the average price for a 4 tier wedding cake serving 103 slices? Plus it's a split design cake.
Kate Thompson, Wedding Expert, Confetti - The average cost of a four-tier wedding cake is around £300, with some couples choosing to order from the high street and others having a specialist cake maker create something truly unique. Prices for cakes on the high street start at under £100, while the sky's the limit for out-of-this-world creations from professional wedding cake makers. Simply choose your cake and add a cute cake topper to finish it off! You can find out more about other wedding costs in How Much Does a Wedding Cost?
Carole Robertson - If you are on a budget why not try a supermarket cake? M&S do iced celebration cakes for a reasonable price. You'd be roughly £130 for 4 different sized cakes & the pillars to go between them. That would serve around 160 people.
Shelby Standley - I got quotes £400 and £50 setup... for a 4 tier by a shop so i decided to look around... in the end i found a lady on Facebook who lives around the corner to me and has amazing feedback and I asked her for all different flavour sponges and it's £250 with setup.. ? bargain. Make sure you look around x
Bex Woollam - I got an really good deal off groupon of all places...£190 for a 4 tier. The cake was amazing. All tiers were different flavours (cherry bakewell, lemon, chocolate & butterscotch). We could've had whatever decoration also. Shop around as some of these prices are crazy.
Emma Lafferty - All depends on whether or not you choose a registered and insured cake maker, and what area you're in. I run my own cake business and so much goes in to making a cake. Definitely shop around, but make sure you look at reviews and past work carefully, and organise a consultation t talk through designs and flavours. I'd charge around £385 for a plain iced 4 tier cake to be delivered and set up (depending on distance) and then detail added on to that. If you're on a tighter budget you could ask for printed images instead of handmade details. Or get the images printed yourself and order a super market cake. Just remember that they tend to be about half the height - they average 2-3" whereas most bakers cakes are now 5"-6"
Daisy Alice Drew - My in laws were going to pay for one at £200 in the end a family member made it we had it in our colour scheme which was ivory and black. We had it decorated with iced daisies and a Mr Men looking bride and groom
Lauren Hubbard - Got our cake from marks and Spencer's was 4 tier and served 150, it was £349 only downside is we had to pick it up the day before and drop it to the venue to store. Was a beautiful cake and soooooo tasty!

Amanda Louise Yeomans - I'm paying £450 for mine, each tier a different flavour cake aswell. That was the cheapest quote I had and from a fully insured cake maker but mine is heavily decorated too xx
Kirsti Jane - I had an amazing deal on my 4 tier of £175. For the same design and size many other cake makers were quoting £300-£400. Shop around and gets lots of quotes x
Kirsty Louise - We were quoted £475 for an iced and quite heavily decorated cake. Ended up going for a semi naked cake in the end though which is inevitably cheaper! x

Francesca Tedstone - We're having 130 cupcakes made and a little top tier cake done for our wedding and that's £310.
Kelly Liza Marie Wilson - 4 tier cake that's split easily £400-600 good cakes aren't cheap and cheap cakes aren't good always remember that. X
