The chosen venue for our wedding is the local village hall. I want to decorate it so it doesn't look like a village hall. Any ideas?
It's amazing how some pretty tables and lighting can totally transform a room. It's worth spending money on hiring good quality linen, china and glassware, perhaps adding a splash of colour with coloured napkins or base plates. Flowers also make a lot of difference to a table, and they don't have to be expensive. You could even have pretty plants in white pots instead of floral arrangements.
If the walls in the hall are plain, how about hanging organza fabric from the walls, or even fairy light nets (available from Habitat).
If you're allowed to have naked flame in the hall, finish the look by dotting tea-lights in glass holders all around the room. You'll be amazed at the end result!
