What do you do when your fiances parents haven't offered any help on anything and then last minute they say they will help with anything. Part of me doesn't want the help 70 days before my wedding because I have gotten this far without their help/input, but then again it's less strain on us financially. How do you react when they have nothing nice to say about anything either?! HELP!!

Sooo before I offer my input I will first share a bit of personal information. My family is unfortunately very dysfunctional. My husband and I planned a somewhat upscale wedding not for show but because that is the style we liked. We decided to pay for our wedding by OURSELVES. We had family members offer to "help" financially. We kindly declined each offering as our wedding came closer and Unnecessary dramas ensued. We were SOOOOOO Happy we had declined the offerings. Cause at that point we didn't "owe" Anyone Anything!! So here's what I would do. Thank them Very Much for the offerings but let them know that at this point ya'll have everything covered. Or let them pay for something SUPER Minor such as the gift card box, napkins, etc. You wouldn't want someone to have it against you of...."well I paid for such and such at your wedding" Sorry you're having a difficult time. Hoping very much it gets better for you all as a family. Whatever you chose do it with Much grace and respect cause it is still your future husband's family. So you are being gracious for Him and he will always remember and appreciate how well you handled such a situation. Best of wishes to you both! CONGRATS!!
