Hello, I am looking for inspiration on how to ask my best friend to be my maid of honour. Ideally I want to be able to present something to her possibly with a gift xx
Karen McGovern - Just ask her nicely, face to face and tell her how important she is to you and your family. If you would find that awkward, write a note in a lovely card. Personally, I would appreciate this more than a mass produced present or an over blown gesture (which is what everyone seems to do these days!?) A heartfelt message really would be cherished forever
Bonita Lundqvist-Paddick - When I asked my cousin to be my maid of honour I ordered a confetti balloon which red will you be my maid of honour and wrote her a lovely message in the card saying how much she meant in the card and then said blow the balloon up :) keep it simple I didn't see the point of a huge thing and she loved it :) hope this helps
Hayley James - I made a picture of me and her (I also did it for bridesmaids) made up of several pictures of us together, then wrote across it 'I couldn't tie the knot without you, will you be my maid of honour' and then had it made into a puzzle. I then broke them all up and sent/delivered them to them in an envelope saying special delivery...! Everybody loved them and we kept the puzzle theme for the wedding too!
Carla Shaw - I did a helium balloon in a box. As she opened the box the balloon floated out with a piece of card on the string saying " pop me " and a pin attached. When she popped he balloon a load of confetti fell out along with a note saying "will you be my maid of honour?". I saved all gifts until the wedding so we didn't spend too much. Xxx
Emma Lester - I bought these cute make up bags with their names on and inside it said "Will you be my Bridesmaid/MOH, love Emma" and filled them with gifts. That way they can be used again :) x
Michelle Musson - I made up a little box of mini champagne, chocolates bridesmaid underwear, Yankee candle etc and also a little mini balloon inside which had a pin attached saying pop me inside the balloon was confetti and a little note asking to be my bridesmaid. :)
Emma Charlie - I did a hamper of their favourite things, a photo of us together, and wrote a card to say how much they mean to me and asking them to be my bridesmaids.
It didn't cost the earth and they were completely personalised. X
Laura Jayne - I got some wooden gift tags off not on the high street, a wedding day Yankee candle, a mini bottle of bubbly and some champagne chocolates.. x
Lauren Barrett - I got a personalised mugs made and filled them with chocolates and a minature bottle of wine xxx
