Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help with me deciding what type of wedding to have? We got engaged in April have been looking at lots of different venues. We are a large family with 5 children and both come from large families ourselves. Our dream venue is everything we could wish for but the wedding would cost around £18,000. Money we don't have but would work extremely hard to get. Or should we have a church wedding with a large beautifully decorated function room afterwards which would probably cost half of the above? I don't want to regret not having the wedding of my dreams or should we be sensible about money and go for cheaper option? I'm so confused and change my mind 10 times a day! Help? Decisions decisions ??

The most important part of the wedding is having your friends, family and more importantly your fiancé stood at the bottom of the room/church waiting for you. No amount of money buys that presence and it's by far the best day you'll ever have based on those reasons only. All the people you love around you at the same time is an amazing feeling. It really shouldn't matter how much you spend, if all of the above is with you it wont matter and you'll only realise that once you've had your day. The venue, flowers, favours (basically all the small things that only you will see!) truly go unnoticed, the stuff you'll remember the next day is how your favourite uncle was dancing to a cheesy song, your little cousin(s) eating all the sweets before the meal has been served, one all or all of your children smiling all day long, your best friend pulling at your dress for hours... it wouldn't matter whether you spent £18k or £3k, the end result will ultimately be the same. This has come from someone who spent a fortune on their wedding day and only me and my husband knew the cost that went into it all, to everyone else they just had fun regardless! Good luck and whatever you chose you'll have the most magical day x
