Hi, we are about to write our invites and are wondering, should it be K'ate and guest' or 'Kate and Guest' with a capital G? Thanks
According to Debretts, 'when inviting partners, the use of the words 'and guest' after a guest's name should be avoided if at all possible - try to establish their name.' Where this is not possible I would suggest simply 'and guest' is fine. These days a 'plus one' for an informal wedding really is ok!
On formal wedding invitations, titled guests should be addressed by their full title, for example, Mr and Mrs David Thompson, Miss Natasha Thompson. For less formal wedding invitations it is acceptable to use only first names.
