Trying to keep our wedding as low key as possible so not having an evening do as such, ie. no disco or buffet, just some background music and snacks. We would like to ask our friends and family to come along for a drink to celebrate our marriage but where can I get invites which are informal so people aren't expecting too much from the evening?
You could make your own invitations or buy some plain ones on the high street, though for guests only invited to the reception, I'd suggest you look out for evening reception invitations, rather than 'wedding invitations'. The most important thing will be the wording and that your guests are informed that it is a low-key drinks reception and not a sit-down meal. You could word the invitations as follows:
(Host's names) request the pleasure of your company at their marriage ceremony at (venue and address) on (day and date) from (start time) followed by an evening drinks reception at (venue name and address) from (start time) to (end time) RSVP by (date) to (Host's name and address).
