Purple centrepiece ideas

I am getting married at the end of May this year, and am really struggling for ideas for the table centres for the wedding reception. I liked the idea of lavender plants, rather than flowers as I think 10 cut flower arrangements will go to waste after the wedding. The florist doesn’t think the lavender will be in flower at the end of May, so now I am stuck. I also like the idea of being able to use the centrepieces again, or given as gifts.  The colour theme is purple, hence the lavender and we also have butterflies on the stationery, but there isn’t a big overall theme. Any advice would be very welcome.
