We offer a choice of rooms at the School which are licensed for your civil ceremony or partnership and the beautiful Great Hall is a perfect setting for your wedding reception.

All just a few minutes’ walk from Bedford Town Centre with great transport links to London, the North and further afield. The school is also within easy reach of a range of local hotels for your guests.

The Great Hall can seat up to 500 guests for a civil ceremony or up to 220 guests for banqueting. Located on the first floor in the main building this space provides an elegant setting for your wedding. Boasting large, stone arched windows which flood the room with light, the Great Hall looks out onto spectacular views of the School grounds. Add your own lighting and decorations and have a wedding perfectly suited to you by adding your touch to our sophisticated light wood interior.

You can serve reception drinks and canapés on the grounds of the school adjacent to the main building. Should the weather not allow you to take advantage of the stunning building facade for photos then our grand Foyer with a double staircase provides a more than suitable alternative.

The Recital Hall is part of the new, award-winning Music School that was opened in 2006. Renowned for its stunning architecture, the building houses the magnificent red Recital Hall with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the School's playing fields and cricket pavilion. With a backdrop of the adjacent 19th Century Chapel, this is a truly dramatic location for your civil ceremony, seating up to 120. The grounds
surrounding The Music Recital Hall provide an attractive location for reception drinks and canapés.

Bedford School’s historic Chapel is available to members of the School community and Old Bedfordians for weddings, as well as christenings and remembrance services. The beautiful grade II listed chapel, with its intricately carved pews, stunning altar and decorative ceiling, provides a traditional and truly memorable setting for weddings. We pride ourselves on offering flexibility and choice here at Bedford School. The booking price will include use of your chosen room and the school grounds. We can also provide additional items such as garden furniture, gazebos and colour coordinated banqueting chairs. You can choose your own decorations and entertainment although we are more than happy to offer advice. We can even recommend a number of talented musicians to help make your day extra special!
