Our Venues:

The Famous Blacksmiths Shop, Gretna Green’s original marriage venue where the legend of the anvil wedding was born, offers a unique setting with over 260 years of romantic history. Famous for hosting weddings since 1754, this ancient building stands virtually unchanged where couples still marry over the traditional anvil. Legend has it that if you touch the famous Gretna Green Anvil, it brings you good fortune in affairs of the heart.

 

Smiths at Gretna Green is a contemporary boutique hotel, situated directly opposite the Famous Blacksmiths Shop. With stylish bar, Chainmail Restaurant and highly appointed spacious bedrooms designed to offer the best night’s sleep. The hotel also offers two unique, contemporary wedding ceremony venues. The Penthouse Suite is ideal for intimate parties, while the Marriage Room can accommodate up to 150 guests. Dining at Smiths is an experience in its own right. This award-winning hotel has a team of talented chefs who create delicious, imaginative dishes using the finest of locally sourced produce.

 

Gretna Hall, the original manor house built for the Gretna Estate in 1710, sits in 10 acres of beautiful parkland and offers all the character of a substantial historical building, with the comfort you would expect from a contemporary hotel. This is an ideal place for a wedding reception or can be your ceremony and reception venue for the entire day. Famous for hosting a series of aristocratic marriages in the 1800s, this magnificent venue is a central part of Gretna Green’s heritage. With historic outbuildings housing three uniquely designed marriage rooms full of character, and with the option to host your ceremony outside or in the main house, Gretna Hall is a flexible venue with a dramatic backdrop and exciting history. The Water Gardens, with views over the Solway Firth, offer an outstanding location and provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photography.
