Hexham Winter Gardens Details
- The Winter Gardens is a stunning Victorian glasshouse that makes for a fabulous, quirky and unique DIY wedding venue or reception.
- The Hydro Hall is a large wood-panelled room with a stage that can also be used for any part of your wedding day or evening.
- The Winter Gardens has a capacity of up to 150 and can be used in conjunction with the Hydro Hall, which has a stage and can seat up to 80.
- Both rooms are licensed for Marriage.
- Westfield House was built as a private residence in 1860 before becoming a Hydropathic Hotel in 1879. The Winter Gardens was added in 1907. The buildings were used for various purposes before they were taken over by Queen Elizabeth High School.
- Once playing host to Hollywood greats Douglas Fairbanks Junior and Charles Laughton and leading Politicians of the day, including British Prime Minister Ramsey Macdonald, the Hydro is now a Grade II Listed Building.

Viewings of our gorgeous Winter Gardens and Hydro Hall can be arranged around school life, Monday – Thursday from 3:30pm. Weekend viewing may be possible by arrangement. Our Wedding Package includes use of the Winter Gardens & Hydro Hall
With up to 15 hours for your wedding day. We also provide 4 hours of time to set up and 2 hours of clean up time
You may choose to supply your own alcohol (we do not charge corkage), or you can apply for a ‘temporary events notice’ to have a pay bar.
