About Kinclune House & Estate

Kinclune House & Estate is a luxury, exclusive-use wedding venue in the Angus Glens. Set on a private 800-acre estate with restored Victorian courtyard and barns and on-site accommodation for up to 28

Welcome to Kinclune House & Estate — A Luxury Scottish Wedding Venue in the Heart of Angus

Tucked away on a private 800-acre estate in the foothills of the Angus Glens and Cairngorms National Park, Kinclune House & Estate is a nature-rich, luxury destination where couples can celebrate in complete seclusion and timeless beauty.

Family-owned and managed, Kinclune is more than a wedding venue — it's a place where history, heart, and natural wonder come together. With a newly restored Victorian courtyard steading and elegant on-site accommodation for up to 28 guests, Kinclune offers couples the rare chance to create a bespoke wedding experience in a breath-taking setting that feels like home.

🕊 A Venue with Heart and Heritage
Aylwin, one of the family owners and full-time wedding manager, was married at Kinclune Steading herself in 2003. Since then, the Steading fell into disrepair — but was lovingly restored over an 18-month period to become a truly special events space, blending rustic charm with contemporary elegance.

The result is a beautiful, flexible venue full of character and warmth, capable of hosting everything from romantic elopements to full weekend celebrations with up to 120 guests.

“It’s everything I hoped for and more,” says Aylwin. “Now, I have the joy of helping couples plan their own perfect day, right here on the estate that means so much to me.”

🌿 Your Celebration, Your Way
Kinclune Steading is a stylish Scottish barn venue with exposed stone walls, soft lighting, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Couples are invited to make the space their own — from wildflower-filled vases and firepit gatherings to ceilidhs under the festoon lights.

The venue includes:

The Arches - our bull pens were converted to an elegant ceremony or reception space overlooking Home Wood and the Vale of Strathmore beyond.

The Party Barn - with vaulted ceiling and original beams.

Oak cross-back chairs, trestle tables, lighting, and sound system included

Beautifully restored barn with indoor-outdoor flow and atmospheric charm. Access from 12 noon the day before your wedding to allow for setup and décor

Aylwin Pillai

Hi, I’m Aylwin (pronounced Ale-win, meaning noble friend). My family own and run 800 acre Kinclune Estate as an award winning, nature-friendly, organic farm and Highland Pony Stud. In 2003, my husband and I were married right here at Kinclune Steading. Back then, the Steading was a beautiful but rustic space. Over the years, it fell into disrepair — but I always dreamed of bringing it back to life. After a year and a half of careful restoration (2024-2025), Kinclune Steading has been transformed beyond its former glory. It’s now everything I hoped it would be — and more: a beautiful space with modern amenities, but retaining its heritage charm. Today, I’m proud to be the full-time owner-manager of Kinclune House & Estate, and I’m here to support you through every stage of planning your perfect day. No question is too small. No idea is too much. My aim is to help create a wedding that reflects your story — just as I had mine here all those years ago. Let’s make it unforgettable.

Wedding Tips from Kinclune House & Estate

1. It’s your day — make it yours. Don’t feel pressured by trends, traditions, or what others have done before. Celebrate your love in a way that feels authentic to you

2. Surround yourselves with love. The people who truly matter are the ones who are excited to celebrate your relationship. Don’t waste energy trying to please everyone — focus on those who lift you up

3. Be mindful of the extras. Little details (and Pinterest ideas) add up fast. Ask yourself: is it meaningful? Flip flops, favours, photo booths — nice if they fit your budget, but optional if not.
