Located in the heart of the Sussex South Downs, Laughton Barns is the ultimate romantic Sussex Barn Wedding Venue. Boasting 84 acres of picturesque landscape and two idyllic lakes, the venue is the most spectacular setting for a gorgeous country wedding. To make your memorable day truly special, we offer all our happy couples exclusive use of the venue for the weekend and a wedding coordinator to help you plan the best day of your lives.

The stunning Apple Barn is licensed for your ceremony. With beautiful views, your outdoor ceremony is in a truly magical setting, with the option to hold your ceremony inside our marquee should the weather dictate otherwise.  Following your ceremony, we encourage you and your guests to enjoy the acres of land for photographs and activities, retiring to the Crown Barn terrace for your drinks reception. Guests can enjoy the grounds with garden games, bouncy castles and sports – there is plenty of space for all. The venue is a gorgeous Sussex Barn Wedding Venue, built in the original Sussex Barn style.

Meanwhile, you can take the opportunity to visit our lakes for your stunning wedding photos and take in the beautiful Sussex countryside as newlyweds, take in the scenery and capture the essence of your special day at Laughton Barns

The Crown Barn is ideal for your wedding celebrations, accommodating 180 guests for the wedding breakfast. The barn was hand-built using local oak, brick and stone and has been fantastically finished with exposed beams and a gothic-inspired chandeliers. The barn’s features are modern yet rustic and provide the ideal canvas for your reception. Additionally, an entire side of the barn can be opened up to let the outside in; you can have the feel of an outdoor event without the commitment to unpredictable weather. Our paved drinks reception area is beautifully sheltered by stunning willow trees, creating a relaxed place in which to enjoy a few refreshments and your guests’ company, with benches, outdoor seating, our pop up bar and even fire pits in the evening.

Toilets, dancefloor and bar are included as part of the venue; with low sofas and tables there are many places for guests to rest their weary feet after a long day of celebration. Also included in our venue hire for this venue is our Resident DJ, who will encourage your guests onto the dancefloor for a night of partying they will never forget. Our finish time at Laughton is 11:30pm and we typically hold one wedding a week at the venue.

At Circa, we pride ourselves on offering couples a flexible approach to their Wedding Breakfast. Whether you’re looking for a four-course fine dining experience with delicate canapés, sharing boards, or a feasting BBQ served ‘family style’, we can cater to every need. 

 We launched in the year 2000, bringing to Lewes the concept of Asian Fusion Dining. We were soon listed in the Michelin Guide and reviewed in The Times & The Observer. Another restaurant, Circa Fish soon followed, then we took over the restaurant at Pelham House, Lewes. In 2008, we decided to expand the events side of the business. We opened here, in a former milking parlour on Bevendean Farm with a small office, then we built a kitchen and slowly progressed adding on more buildings and storage. In our 20th year of business, we’re lucky enough to include some gorgeous venues in our portfolio and work with some of the best suppliers in the South East.

Our team has grown to include talented Event Managers and Chefs who make it all come together for our clients. Each has their own talents and contribute to what we do here at Circa, using their experience, passion for food and events in their work. We’re still here on the farm, all these years later a little bigger but still holding true to our values from the restaurant days – our passion for good, locally sourced food, served with flair & creativity is and always will be, the driving force behind us all at Circa.
