The breath-taking lake views and romantic woodland walks make Roadford Lake a perfect choice for your wedding. It’s a peaceful place to spend time with loved ones to mark the most important celebration for a couple.
With its convenient location, just off the A30 between Launceston and Okehampton, ample parking and a spacious reception room, it offers a flexible approach to your day, whether you want a small, simple celebration or large gathering with friends and family.
A Day to Remember -
At Roadford can you enjoy the use of our room overlooking the water, with an outdoor covered terrace, your guest can make the most of the stunning lake views. Children will love the outdoor play area, making it easy for families to relax and enjoy the day together.
Once the formal celebrations are over, you and your guests can take advantage of the space available, including the terrace and grass amphitheatre, both with the lake as a backdrop. A short walk away is the striking 6m stainless steel sundial, created with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and now the perfect spot for that unique photo to remember your day by.
In the evening, dance to your disco, live band or tailor your night’s entertainment to suit you – our team can help with ideas and contacts.
The Burrator Room -
Burrator seats up to 80 guests for your wedding breakfast and can accommodate up to 180 guests for the evening party. Outside, Burrator leads on to the covered terrace, with uninterrupted views over the lake – perfect for a sun-downer. With a bar serving this room, this combination gives you plenty of space to enjoy your special day, all in one lovely location.
The Practical Details -
Roadford is licenced to hold marriages and civil partnerships with Torridge district council. We advise that you check your date with them directly prior to contacting us.
Bar -
Our experienced bar team will run our fully stocked bar for your throughout your day and evening. We can supply you reception drinks, table wine and toast drinks if you wish. If you would like to bring your own table wine and bubbly we charge a corkage fee.

Since Joining South West Lakes in 2021 it’s still hard to believe that my office view is Roadford Lake! It’s always a delight to see people’s reactions when they visit the site for the first time, no matter the weather there is always a stunning backdrop. Our functions team has years of combined experience supporting ceremony and reception events, with the versatility and expertise to ensure you can enjoy your day without any worries.
