A question I am often asked is about the legal side of getting married so here is a little explanation on how it works just in case this was something you needed answering. As an independent wedding Celebrant i create and conduct completely bespoke ceremonies that reflect your story, your personalities and the journey you've shared together. Unlike a registrar led ceremony there is no restriction on where, when and how your ceremony is written, giving you the freedom to create something truly meaningful and memorable. In England and Wales celebrants are not currently authorised to perform the legal marriage so most couples simply complete the legal formalities separately at their local register office either a few days before their wedding day at the venue of their choice. The legal ceremony is a straight forward appointment with just the legal declarations and signing of the legal marriage document. Many couples actually prefer this approach because it means they can keep the legal paperwork separate and make their wedding day entirely about celebrating with their family and friends. It also allows your ceremony to be completely personal with no prescribed wording or time restrictions.
