The Grand Hall is the larger of the two spaces, accommodating between 100 and 350 guests. Situated on the first floor, it has been designed with a luxurious, contemporary feel, featuring tall ceilings, soft tones, elegant grooved mirrors and impressive chandeliers. The space can be adapted to suit different wedding styles and themes, allowing you to put your own stamp on the celebration.
For smaller weddings, the Heather Suite offers an altogether more intimate setting for between 40 and 100 guests. Opened in 2013, it was created specifically to offer smaller parties the same attention to detail and elegance associated with the Grand Palace.
Both venues are licensed for civil ceremonies, so you can exchange vows at the Grand Palace before continuing with your reception. There is also the option to use both spaces, perhaps welcoming guests for the ceremony or drinks reception in the Heather Suite before moving into the Grand Hall for the main celebration.
The Grand Palace also offers flexibility when it comes to catering. Its experienced team can create menus around your event, with options including sit-down meals, buffets and gourmet choices. The venue has an interesting history, too. The building dates back to the Victorian era and was originally known as The Kings Arms Hotel and Public House, with large assembly rooms. A major conversion in 2005 transformed it into the Grand Palace Banqueting Suite, while further renovations in 2013 introduced the Heather Suite.
