Perfectly situated in a magnificent 19th century inn nestled in the Ambergate valley.
The Hurt Arms at Ambergate is a quintessential combination of rustic and contemporary, with the unique and stylish Tollgate Suite for you to host your special day.
Named The Tollgate Suite after the toll house and gate that was adjoined to The Hurt Arms in the 1870’s, when the building was first built by Francis Hurt.
We have an experienced team of bar staff, management, waiting assistants and wedding coordinators.
Your wedding coordinator will ensure your day is no-less-than perfection from start to finish.
They will be with you from your first meeting, to last minute nerves before you walk down the aisle, right up until your first dance.
We pride ourselves on being flexible with packages and understand each story is different, we work tirelessly to ensure every single couple have the day they have dreamed of.

- The Hurt Arms retains the historic charm and character, offering sweeping views across the beautiful Derbyshire landscape. Complete with a private bar, exposed brickwork and chic lighting, the Tollgate Suite encapsulates an inspiring canvas.
- Outside is a raised terrace area that descends to the Secret Garden. Exclusive to you and your guests, The Secret Garden is a picturesque setting to enjoy drinks or outdoor cuisine.
- From first glance to first dance, our talented wedding coordinators will be with you before you walk down the aisle for those last minute nerves and making sure everything runs flawlessly.
- Design the ceremony you’ve dreamed of with our bespoke cross back chairs and rustic wooden backdrop. We also have ceremony decorations if you wish to include them.
- With years of experience in wedding catering, our expert chefs have devised a menu to ‘wow’ your guests and ensure your first meal as a married couple is one you will never forget. and dietary requirements.
- We have six individually designed suites for you and those guests who belong at the heart of your wedding. Soft sheets, fluffy towels, toiletries from The White Company, complimentary slippers and robes are all included in each suite.
