Paul Manville has been working as a DJ since 1987, based in the North West of England and travelling all over the UK.
When booking a DJ for your event, the best way is to choose one based on reputation or personal recommendation. If you don’t have that luxury, Paul can help. You may think that a DJ just plays records and your mate down the road can do this. You are right – a DJ just plays records, and in these times of laptops and MP3 players it has become easier and less expensive to be a mobile DJ. But there is a vast difference between a professional DJ and your mate down the road.
A professional DJ will:
Ask you for the records that you want played and not played. He is able to read the crowd and select the records that will keep the dance floor busy.
Talk on the microphone so that you can understand, and interact with your guests in a friendly manner.
Have insurance - £10m public liability insurance and all the equipment is PAT (portable appliance tested)
The success of your event is important to Paul and he offers a superior level of service. At the time of booking you will be sent a legal contract that protects you the customer and him the supplier. All that he asks is that at least two weeks before the booking you send him your request list by email, text or post. When you book him you get him, he doesn't pass on any booking to anyone else and he doesn't work for any entertainment agencies.
When your special day arrives after all the weeks, months or years of saving and planning, you want everything to be perfect. The day will start early, and after the service, wedding breakfast and not forgetting the speeches, your evening reception is your chance to relax with your friends and family.
Every wedding is different because every bride and groom is different, and from your first dance your music will be tailored around your tastes. You may choose to theme your wedding reception, for example: seventies disco, black and white with soul and funk greats, Motown, club classics, or have your own jukebox and choose from over 17,000 tracks. Just in case a guest asks for a track that is not in the library, Paul has the facility to download tracks on the night (subject to wireless or 3g service).
Some companies may offer "Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum" packages. Paul’s services are tailored to meet your requirements - you may require up-lighters for your marquee or room in your choice of colour and sound to light at night, you may choose to have an LED dance floor, you may want the venue walls and ceiling covered in stars, you may want the latest moving head lights, or you may just want a great DJ!
