Experience Something Different
You will find the Larmer Tree nestled in the heart of the Cranborne Chase, on the Wiltshire/ Dorset border in an area of outstanding natural beauty. General Augustus Pitt Rivers created the gardens in 1880 and is an extraordinary example of Victorian extravagance and vision. They were the first privately owned gardens to be opened for public enjoyment and are recognised by English Heritage as a Garden of National Importance,
There are a unique collection of ornate buildings within the garden where your Civil Ceremony can be held; inside the Victorian Pavilion and General’s Room, or outside in the Roman Temple and Lower Indian Room. The choice of your marriage room will depend on your guest numbers, but do not fear, they have total flexibility whatever the weather.
On Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year, the entire 11 acres are available for your private use, whether you choose to hold your ceremony at the Larmer Tree or elsewhere, you can enjoy the company of friends and family in exclusive privacy. Their unique setting is perfect for almost any style of wedding, as well as serving your choice of wedding breakfast from a relaxed BBQ, Victorian Tea, or formal dinner; the elegant pavilion can comfortably seat 144 guests.
If you like the idea of a more intimate celebration, they can offer a Secret Garden Wedding. These are held midweek Monday to Thursday, for a maximum of 30 guests. You are welcome to use any one of the buildings for your ceremony and they provide a marquee on the main lawn for your reception with garden furniture, garden games and deck chairs. Peacocks and free flying Macaws complete the magical atmosphere.
Each wedding has the services of their wedding co-ordinator, who will help you plan your perfect celebration and then ensure that your wedding day will be unforgettable.
