Barbara and Roberto wanted a true Medieval-themed wedding, complete with a historical location, authentic Medieval recipes and music! Studio MSE made their dream come true in spectacular fashion. Wedding date: 3rd of September 2011
Wedding location: a garden ceremony, followed by a reception at an ancient Italian court (a so called “Rocca”) of the 14th century, in Emilia Romagna region.
What were your wedding theme/colours? The Medieval age, white and deep red. The flowers were typical of the Medieval age with red carnations and white roses. The placecards were shield cookies with our initials, R and B. Our “tableau marriage” was a sort of ancient banner.
Who were your bridesmaids/groomsmen? The bride’s two sisters were bridesmaids, the groom’s brother was the best man.
We chose our venue because… Micol of Studio MSE took us there and right away we saw that the Rocca was perfect for us! The beautiful Barozzi’s pigeon tower was a magic setting for our symbolic ceremony.
What was your dress like? White with a black ruffle at the bottom, very dramatic!
What was your ceremony like? The ceremony was moving, the most special moment was when the celebrant tied our hands together with 3 ribbons, a red one, a green one and a white one!
What was your favourite part of the wedding? The banquet with typical Medieval recipes rediscovered by the chef, and the fabulous musicians who played a sort of woodwind and a Medieval drum – they once played with Sting! And last but not least, we really enjoyed the first night inside a magical medieval tower in Bologna!
What was the song for the first dance? A typical wedding Medieval ballad, very evocative!
What is your advice for other brides? Have your big day exactly as you dream, even if the theme you love is a little bit strange!!!!!
