How and when did you meet?
We met at university when I was looking for somewhere to live, and he had a spare room available.
How old are you both?
23 and 26.
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
We spent our second anniversary at a hotel in our old university town. We had walked up a nearby mountain and at the top he opened his bag and pulled out a picnic, pink champagne and the ring.
Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?
We chose not to have a hen or stag celebration.
How did your groom help with the wedding planning?
He left it mostly up to me but agreed everything before it was booked.
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
The married abroad pages were very helpful as we were married in Las Vegas.
Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
I couldn’t resist a “Mrs” t-shirt for the following day!
Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it
I wore a short, lacey dress from Debenhams with shoes from Elegant Steps online store. I also wore pearl jewellery from Marks and Spencer.
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
We did not have any guests.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
We did not have any guests.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Civil.
Where did you hold your ceremony?
Bellagio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Where did you hold your reception?
Bobby’s Bar, New Brighton, Wirral.
Did you have any special wedding transport?
We had a six seater pearl limo for a photo tour of Las Vegas Boulevard after the ceremony.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
We did not have any guests for the ceremony. Approximately 50 guests were at the reception.
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
No, we felt we had done that for the ceremony. The reception was simply for family and friends to get together and have a good time.
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
The hotel arranged the flowers for us. I had a bouquet made from stargazer lillies, freesia and pink roses with pearls, and my husband had a pink rose button hole.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
For our wedding meal we went to a nearby chinese restaurant. For the reception we did a buffet ourselves.
What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?
My wedding cake was a two tiered chocolate fudge cake bought from Costco and assembled at home.
Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
The resident DJ at the venue.
Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
We had been living together for four years and had more than enough things between us, so we opted for vouchers or cash.
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
We spent our first night at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, and stayed there for the next two weeks for our honeymoon.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
Seeing my husband in his suit.
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
Be open minded about the type of wedding you want. We felt we were expected to have a big traditional wedding, but in the end we opted for what we wanted to do and had a private wedding abroad and we will never regret our choice.
