Laura and Adam Wedding in Africa
Q: Where did you go?
A: Kenya
Q: How long were you away?
A: 2 weeks
Q: How much did it cost and what sort of holiday was it (e.g. package, all-inclusive etc)?
A: £3000 (ish) All inclusive
Q: Did you spend the whole holiday in one place or did you travel around?
A: We landed in Mombassa on the Monday morning spent the day and night at a all inclusive resort the voyager. Then at 5am were woken to go on safari. spent the next three nights/ four days in different locations looking out for elephants, lions, hippos and zebra. After an exhausting but exhilarating four days drove four hours to our all inclusive 5 star resort, whitesands, for a well earned rest.
Q: What was a typical day like?
A: Typical day on safari started around 6am with a early morning game drive. arriving back at the hotel in time for breakfast. We would then pack up our bags and load them in the truck and set off for our mornings drive. Around lunch we would reach our next nights accommodation, take our bags to our rooms and grab some lunch. After lunch we were normally given a couple of hours to relax by the pool before a early evening drive. Once back to the lodge we’d find enough energy to eat tea then claps in bed, ready for another day.
Once we arrived at whitesands the 5 star all inclusive hotel our routine changed dramatically. After a incredibly lazy lie in we would stumble out of bed in search for a sun lounger next to one of the four pools, (we tended to favour the pool with the swim up bar!!) Once comfortable on our beds we would beckon a waiter and order some light refreshments in preparation for our long and tiring day by the pool. Around lunch time we would stir ourselves to wonder over to the lobster restaurant were we would partake in the odd glass of wine and scrumptious food. The afternoons were spent soaking up the sun and swimming in the pool. Around 6pm we’d retire to our rooms to prepare for an evening of drink, food and entertainment. By around 7:30pm you could often find us in one of the many hotel bars with a gin and tonic and pimms and lemonade. At 8pm we would sit for dinner and discuss the days activities! After a wonderful four course meal we would position our selves in the lounge or bar for the evenings entertainment. Depending on the mood we would either have a few drinks and retire to bed or go to the local club and dance the night away. Arr what a life!
Q: How did you and your partner get on?
A: We were on such a high after the wedding it was brilliant, each of us remembering little snippets of the day. Adam and I get on so well, after all not only is he my husband but also my best friend.
Q: What were the best bits?
A:
Q: Were there any worst bits?
A: 5am mornings!!!
Q: What advice would you give other honeymooners-to-be?
A: Really go for it. After all the nerves and excitement of the wedding you really do need to go away and relax. You need to spend some quality time together. To start your married life in luxury. go on spoil your self.
