Sarah and Paul Wedding abroad
touring Las Vegas and San Francisco
If your husband booked the honeymoon, did he keep it a surprise from you?
We booked it together.
How long after your wedding did you leave for your honeymoon?
We got married on 29 May 2004, and went on honeymoon on 18 August. We did it because my cousin was getting married in Las Vegas – so we thought we’d time it right so that we could go to her wedding. It was a great idea as it gave us something to look forward to!
Where did you go?
Las Vegas and San Francisco.
How long were you away?
We spent six nights in each location.
How much did it cost and what type of holiday was it (all inclusive, self catering, package etc)?
£2500 for the flights, hotels and transfers.
Did you spend the whole holiday in one place or did you travel around?
We spent the holiday touring the cities.
What did you do?
Well, Las Vegas – where do I start? It is the most amazing place I have ever visited! There’s just so much to do! In San Francisco we went to Alcatraz which was amazing and well worth the visit. We also went to Pier 39 and travelled around on trams which was an experience in itself!
What was a typical day like?
In Vegas there is no typical day – you just take whatever it throws at you! The funny thing was – as we were there for my cousin’s wedding – so were my entire family. It’s very strange to be on honeymoon and for your mum to phone at 9am to tell you to get up! Looking back, it was quite funny.
How did you and your partner get on?
Brilliantly. We spent some time with my family and some time alone.
What advice would you give other honeymooners-to-be?
If you want to know anything – please feel free to e-mail me! And if you’re going to Vegas and you can afford it, stay at the Venetian and go on a gondola!!
