a sightseeing and relaxing honeymoon in Thailand
Who booked your honeymoon?
We decided together but I booked it. What Scott did keep a surprise was the fact there was rather a big problem which resulted in us paying for the flights twice as the initial airline cancelled our flight. We had to pay for another flight before getting the money refunded on the first flights!
How long after your wedding did you leave for your honeymoon?
We went two days after the wedding. We got married in Prague on a Friday, flew back to the UK on a Saturday then out on the Sunday.
Where did you go?
Bangkok and Phuket.
How long were you away?
11 nights.
How much did it cost and what type of holiday was it (all inclusive, self catering, package etc)?
Approximately £1,400 total which included flights, accommodation in four-star hotels on a bed and breakfast basis, transfers and taxes.
Did you spend the whole holiday in one place or did you travel around?
As it was a two-centre holiday, we travelled to Bangkok and then onto Phuket.
What did you do?
Bangkok was frantic so we were quite busy with tours and sightseeing, as well as bartering for our fake designer goods! Phuket was more relaxing.
What was a typical day like?
In Bangkok we planned more what to do as we were only there for three days. We had eight days in Phuket so were able to have days where we did nothing much but lie on the beach although we did take a few tours as well and ate in fantastic restaurants with great food.
How did you and your partner get on?
Famously! We hadn’t been together 24/7 for a whole three weeks before (one week off for the wedding and two weeks honeymoon) but it was great and we didn’t get on each others nerves which I thought could happen!
What were the best bits?
Remember to organise the honeymoon and not just concentrate on the wedding! We forgot our vouchers for the hotel because I had concentrated most of my efforts on the actual wedding and not much on the honeymoon.
