When should we take out wedding insurance?
It is recommended that you take out Wedding Insurance as soon as you make any bookings or pay any deposits towards your wedding.

What happens if any of the suppliers go bankrupt?
We will contact Companies House and/or the Liquidators involved and we will then pay for any expenses you are not able to recover and additional costs in arranging equivalent services following the bankruptcy or liquidation of any pre‐booked wedding services supplier.

When does my wedding insurance cover start?
Cover starts from the moment payment is received.

My partner/member of the main wedding party is in the armed forces. What would happen if their leave was cancelled?
As long as the leave was unexpected and unavoidable this would be covered under the wedding insurance policy.

Will I be covered against redundancy?
Yes, if any of the major financial contributors to the wedding costs are made redundant and at least 8 weeks after the issue of the insurance policy they qualify for payment under the current redundancy legislation and are not self employed.

Am I covered if the bride or groom catch swine flu?
Our Underwriters have confirmed that they are not excluding cancellation claims relating to swine flu (influenza A H1N1) suffered by either of the insured couple or a close relative (as defined in the policy wording), provided that there was no knowledge that the person was suffering with the condition when the policy was purchased and that the situation is confirmed with a medical certificate.

What happens if my dress/or any hired wedding ceremony attire is lost, stolen or damaged before I get married?
Should the dress by lost, stolen or damaged 48 hours prior to the wedding we will pay for a replacement dress or dress hire charges based on the original purchase price of the dress.

What happens if the venue is unable to hold the wedding or reception?
We will pay for any expenses you are not able to recover if you have to cancel the wedding or reception, or we will help with the cost of re‐arrangement with another venue. Please refer to the policy wording with regards to cover related to ‘Failure of Supplier’.

What happens if the wedding or reception has to be cancelled or re‐arranged because of illness, injury or death of someone involved in the wedding?
We will pay for cancellation or re‐arrangement costs when a member of the wedding party is affected, please refer to the policy wording with regards to cover related to cancellation due to illness. Details of illnesses must be disclosed when taking out the policy.

What happens if the wedding photographs do not develop?
We cover you up to the amount stated in the schedule for all expenses incurred in the necessary retaking of the official wedding photographs or video/DVD following due to loss of or damage to the original film, negatives or video tape/DVD before copies are made or the film developed or due to faulty materials causing non‐development of the original film or negatives (except under‐ or over‐exposure). This extends to the non‐appearance of the professional photographer or video/DVD operation booked for the wedding.

What would happen if we damaged the marquee?
If the Optional Extension premium has been paid cover is provided for any accidental loss or damage to the marquee caused by the wedding party.

Am I covered if my wedding and reception are on different dates?
Yes, you are covered if your reception is within 21 days of your ceremony. If your reception is more than 21 days after your ceremony simply call us on 0845 218 7154 for a personal wedding insurance quote

We are having a winter ceremony. What would happen if we got snowed in and could not make it to our wedding venue?
Cover would be provided should you or the majority of your guests be unable to attend the wedding ceremony due to adverse weather conditions.
