When was your wedding?

How and when did you meet?

We were neighbours for 11 years before we got together, but we actually got together on a night out.

How old are you both?

I’m 23 and he’s 29

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

He proposed in my favourite restaurant with a beautiful diamond ring.

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

We decided not to do hen/stag parties but my friend stole my passport and whisked me away to Dublin 2 days before my wedding for a wild night out!

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

Absolutely, he came to every meeting with the wedding planner, he wanted to know exactly what his money was paying for.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

I had a web page, I loved the table planner and the weekly to do list was a godsend, although you can stop sending them now!

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

We bought cameras for the tables from your store in Leeds

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

I had my dress custom made in Manchester. It was very big, with a beaded boned corset. It was white and very beautiful

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had 6 bridesmaids. My sister Alexis, my auntie Jodie, my friend Debbie, our daughter Faith, my friends daughter Amber and my cousin Maddie. The 3 adults wore pink tea length, lace and taffeta dresses, and my 3 flower girls wore full skirted white dresses with ballet slippers.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

He chose his brother for his best man and my brother for an usher, my step dad, his dad, and my step brother all wore the same suits as them.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

We got married in church

Where did you hold your ceremony?

All Saints Church, South Cave

Where did you hold your reception?

Cave Castle, South Cave

Did you have any special wedding transport?

No. the church was in the grounds of the castle, and I got ready at the castle that morning so we didn’t need transport

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had 80 for the wedding and 100 for the evening reception

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

It didn’t have a theme, just lots of flowers in pink and white.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

I set all the tables myself on the morning of the weddings. The tables had table centre with pink and white flowers in them, the favours where white boxes tied with pink ribbon (and lovehearts inside) and I also made all the stationary myself

Yes

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

Our florist was Helen Boyd of Power Flowers and she did an amazing job. We had roses and lots of them! My bouquet was candy bianca and white roses, the button holes where white roses, the bridesmaids carried bouquets of white roses, and my flower girls carried crystal pomanders with pink roses on them

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

The castle did the catering. For starter we had Melon with fruit coulis drizzled with malibu, and for main course we had roast turkey served with all the trimmings and for desert we had chocolate covered profiteroles, followed by coffee and truffles.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

We had a four tier castle cake made by the Cake Cabin of Scartho. It was huge and really yummy!

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a DJ

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We didn’t have a gift list

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We stayed in the castles’ very beautiful bridal suite for our first night before jetting off on honeymoon at 10am the next morning ( I wouldn’t recommend this) We went to Disney World, Florida. We booked this through Thomson.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Saying our vows.

Did you experience any “nightmare” moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

The DJ screwed up our first dance ‐ Don’t ever work with family! And I ran out of time on the eve of our wedding so some things got overlooked

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Elope! No, only kidding! I don’t think I would do anything differently.
