How did your partner (or you) propose?

he bought me a Willow Tree ornament, of a couple holding each other. I collect Willow Tree, and he wanted me to open the present on Christmas Eve but I wouldn’t as i knew it was an ornament. Well when I opened the box on Christmas morning I noticed a red ribbon and something gold but didn’t register, it was the ring tied on a ribbon round the neck of the lady, and he was on 1 knee beside me asking me to marry him. I just stared at the ring, a gorgeous gold diamond trilogy ring, and was totally shocked and asked him if the ring was an engagement ring and he said it depends whether you say yes or no, of course said yes and he untied the ribbon and slipped the ring on my finger, it was a perfect fit and looked as if it was made just for me

Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?

My 4 children, they were with us when i opened the present and were there to see everything, my 16 year old son and 8 year old daughter were crying.

Describe your ring.

Its yellow gold, with 3 small diamonds and they sit in what looks like a loop the way the ring is designed, very beautiful.

No, I had no idea

Did you have an engagement party?

Kind of

If so, where was it held?

At home, as we got engaged on Christmas day we had a double celebration

How many people were invited?

Just the 2 of us, and my children, then his 23 year old son later that day

When do you plan to marry?

October 2010

What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?

Everything, my 1st wedding was just 4 people in a registry office, I wore a dress I bought from Littlewoods! My partner is also doing this a 2nd time and like me had a simple registry office wedding, so this time were doing the whole thing. I’m looking forward to wearing a beautiful wedding gown.
