I was 27, Paul was 33
Who proposed?
Paul proposed to me.
How did your partner (or you) propose?
We were on holiday in Egypt and had taken a 2 day trip to Luxor. We had booked a very early morning hot air balloon ride and Paul proposed at sunrise overlooking the Nile. We then went back to Luxor a year later as a kind of anniversary trip and that’s when we set a date to get married.
Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?
I took a picture of my ring on my mobile phone and sent it to my mum and sister (who were expecting the news as Paul had asked my dad for my hand in marriage) and then when it was a reasonable time we phoned Paul’s grandma who is a very special lady in both our eyes.
Describe your ring.
Its an emerald cluster ring. Paul wanted to get me an emerald as its my birth stone, and this way I get 14 diamonds instead of 1!!
Did you help choose the ring?
No it was a complete surprise…. and i love it all the more because i know the trouble he went to to get it.
Will your partner wear an engagement ring as well?
Yes he does

What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?
All of it… i love that we are also incorporating Paul’s biggest passion which has also rubbed off on me…. West Ham (sorry ‐ i know it’s a bit cheesey!!)
