How old are you both?

31 & 35

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

On the night before my 30th birthday in a restaurant, he asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said “I thought you would have sorted it by now!!” then he said “no but I have got you this” and produced the ring. I was in TOTAL shock.

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

I had a weekend in my home town of Bournemouth and Phill had a night in Southampton.

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

By having honest opinions all the way through and doing what he could

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

The forum helped me pick songs and kept me sane!!!

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

Cameras online.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

It was Jean Fox; a little known Australian designer from a lovely shop in The New Forest.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

My best friend Jo and her daughter as flower girl.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

His best friend Stuart, they wore black tux with teal cravats and ivory waistcoats, my son, godfather and brother were ushers.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Religious. We married in the same church as my dear Nan. We didn’t find out until she died, and looked at the her marriage certificate, it was like it was meant to be. She got married during the war, then moved to Canada, came back and lived in a Village in Dorset for the rest of her life, I then moved to Totton New Forest from Bournemouth to be with Phill, this is where my Nanna grew up and got married!

Where did you hold your ceremony?

Eling Church in Totton, The New Forest.

Where did you hold your reception?

The Vine Inn, Ower The New Forest.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

My new husband’s type R Jag.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

75 day and 30 more for the evening.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Teal and ivory with butterflies.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

Butterfly table confetti, ivory floating gerberas.

Did you give your guests favours?

Teal foil wrapped hearts, the kids had a lovely gift bag each, this went down so well.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

Both the bridesmaid and I had ivory roses. We had ivory floating gerberas on the tables.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

Venue did a lovely hot sit down buffet.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

It was two tier and square and my Boss’s wife made it.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a DJ at night

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

Our first night was spent in the hotel. Our honeymoon  was in Lanzarote. We booked online with Como Street Travel.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Walking up the aisle and seeing Phillip.

Did you experience any “nightmare” moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

No.

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Get more sleep the night before, enjoy every moment and have what YOU want!
