How and when did you meet?
By sheer luck in January 2003.
How old are you both?
I am 27 and Will is 26.
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
Officially on Valentine’s Day 2003 – five weeks after we met!
Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?
Yes, Will went to Brighton with his friends and I went for a meal and clubbing with my friends in my local town.
How did your groom help with the wedding planning?
He helped me right from start to finish. He was brilliant!
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
Yes, I used it from the very beginning on the recommendation of another friend who was also getting married!
Do you have a confetti web page?
Yes.
Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
My mum and dad brought us some balloons/cake topper/ other bits and pieces online just prior to the wedding and we also brought confetti wedding insurance!
Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it
My dress was ‘Julie’ by Maggie Sottero – I loved it as soon as I put it on!
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
I had two bridesmaids, My sister, Emma, and my friend, Fiona, who both wore two piece lilac dresses encrusted with crystals around the bodice and were made by Alfred Angelo.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
The best man was Markie and our ushers were Stuart and Karl and they both wore traditional morning dress.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Church ceremony with a C of E service.
Where did you hold your ceremony?
Ifield Church in Crawley.
Where did you hold your reception?
Cottesmore Golf and Country Club.
Did you have any special wedding transport?
We had a Rolls Royce and a Daimler which were so much fun!
How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
We had 40 to the sit down and I honestly couldn’t tell you how many came to the evening, a lot more then we had anticipated! But it was a great evening!
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
We kept our theme to lots of roses and flowers and our colours were ivory and lilac.
How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
Hand tied bouquets of lilac and cream roses and lilac fresh scattered petals in lilac and ivory.
Did you give your guests favours?
Yes, ivory sugared almonds in lilac drawstring bag- we kept it very simple.
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
We used a family friend who owns her own florist shop and I had a tear drop shape bouquet and the bridesmaids had hand held bouquets -all lilac and ivory roses with ivy and freesias -the theme was kept the same throughtout even with our tables.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
Our venue catered and we had melon and fruit for starter followed by traditional roast chicken and veg, with vegetarian options – and for dessert we had summer fruits pudding -which in the end -after much umming and aahing was the best choice for us, as it was a very hot day and was very refreshing!
What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?
Again another family friend made the cake, a traditional four tier wedding cake made of rich fruit -with fresh flowers between each layer.
Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
During the evening we had a disco.
Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
Yes with Debenhams.
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
At the venue and our honeymoon was booked with Virgin Holidays.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
All of it to be honest! The most romantic was walking up the aisle. I think every bride would agree!
Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
Yes, my hairdresser had a nut allergy and couldn’t do my hair! Luckily I had a back up!
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
I wouldn’t do anything differently. It was the most amazing day of my life!
