i was 20 soon to be 21 and he was 21.

How did your partner (or you) propose?
We were on our 2nd trip to New york city, we went on the 18th december 2009 and on the monday 21st we got up nice an early and had planned to go ice skating at the rockefeller center then go up to the the top of the rockefeller center (top of the rock). ice skating was too busy so we decided go top of rock first.. the sun was shining but was freezing cold.. james kept asking me wot view i liked the best and i said central park as it was covered in snow and was a winter wonderland. he kept acting strange and then looking over central park he took my hand and got down on one knee and asked me the question. of coursed i jumped and said yes and he placed the goregous ring on my finger with a perfect fit.
Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?
First of all we text mum to let her know. We were going keep it quiet but i need to tell someone. We kept it quiet from his family and our friends till we got home xmas eve. Then we told his parents and met everyone down the pub who had been informed from his family to greet us with cards and flowers..
Describe your ring.
It’s a 18ct white gold solitaire ring with one single dimond 1/2 caret diamond… i love it. Its from H Samuel.
Did you help choose the ring?
I may of gave a few hints ages ago when a leaflet come through the door but didint actaully think anything woulkd come of it lol!
Will your partner wear an engagement ring as well?
At first we was going to I like the idea but all our money going to house and wedding so we just save an get an extra special wedding band.
Did you have an engagement party?
Yes on the 29th jan… it was amazing cant believe how many people came i was very overwhealmed and cried because my mum came and she said she wouldnt be attending.
If so, where was it held?
In bocking village hall essex. An old building and had a bar.. the dj was excellent couldn’t fault him.
How many people were invited?
Around about 120 and i wouls say 120 came easily.
Did you have a particular theme for your party?
It was my 21st as well so I wanted it to have a little theme.. so decoratiopns where all pink and black to be girly.. we had an engagment cake. and everyone dressed very smartly men where all suited and booted girls in dresses.
When do you plan to marry?
I would love june 2012 depending on money if not it be 2014 not 2013 as we both said this is unlucky lol.
What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?
All of it.. i went to natioanl wedding fair other week and im so exicted..
