How and when did you meet?
James and I met on a day trip with friends to Wet N’ Wild. Although I was severly hungover from the night before, we hit it off instantly. We began dating and it wasn’t long before James proposed. We met three years ago from the day we got married: 5th May 2004
How old are you both?
I am 21 James is 28
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
James proposed on Christmas Eve 2004, he presented me with a gorgeous platinum ring, just the one I wanted and asked me to marry him.
Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?
Yes we both went round the town. We couldn’t do anything else as our baby son was only three months old. James however did get an extra special treat……a roly poly!
How did your groom help with the wedding planning?
Not really he did choose our first dance song. Which was This I Swear by Nick Lachey.
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
I did and purchased many items including your insurance

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it
The dress I wore was a Forever Yours ballgown. It was originally strapless however i decided to add the straps as it kept on falling down. The bodice was a corset and very detailed with diamonties
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
I had a cheif bridesmaid (my aunty) and two other bridesmaids (my cousins) they wore 50s style prom dresses. My little sister was flower girl and she wore a ivory jasper conran dress that was similar to mine.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
The groom chose his brother-in-law for best man and my brother and his nephew for ushers. They all wore full matching suits.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
We decided to have a civil ceremony

Rushpool Hall Hotel, Saltburn

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
We invited 110 and 80 actually came. We did have a separate evening guest list of about 60
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
Yes, It was monochrome and Audrey Hepburn
How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
The table names were all Audrey Hepburn films and the centerpieces were candles on the mirrored placemat with tealights around the candle. I then had black and silver confetti on the table
Did you give your guests favours?
Yes, the women were given a personalised candle and matchbook and the men were given mint imperials. I also gave the children party bags filled with goodies
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
My florist was Flowerhouse. My bouquet was a calla lilly and rose cascading bouuet and my bridesmaids bouquets were just calla lillies.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
My menu consisted of soup or melon to start. Roast Beef for main and either apple crumble or strawberry shortbread hearts for dessert. I choose to go with the venue cooks.
What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?
My wedding cake was a bit of a nightmare. In the end i had a professional make it, it consisted of four tiers, one fruit, two sponge, one chocolate, was iced white and had black ribbon and bows on it. It was gorgeous
Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
Yes a DJ on the evening which the venue provided
Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
No, we just asked for vouchers
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
We spent our first night at Rushpool Hall and then our honeymoon in the Lake District
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
Being called Mr and Mrs Headlam for the very first time
Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
Yes our cake baker closing down two weeks before my wedding and my dress not being finished until the Monday before!!
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
Just make sure you get what you want! Be a bridezilla if you want to be!
