How did your partner (or you) propose?

Whilst on holiday in the Caribbean. We were at a beach party one night having a fantastic time dancing to Salsa and reggae music, drinking cocktails on the beach when suddenly the flood lights came on and the music stopped. The beach full of guests stopped and looked round to see what was happening, the d.j. then announced that the man in the white top has something to say and pointed to Dave. I looked at him totally confused and he did the same, he shrugged his shoulders and walked over to the d.j. to find out what was going on, by this point I was so embarrassed as there was about 200 people standing around looking at us both wandering why the party had stopped. Dave grabbed the microphone, spun round and shouted “hello” to me. Still puzzled and embarrassed I put my hands to my mouth as I instinctively knew what he was going to do, I could hear the other guests whooping and cheering in the background in anticipation. Dave then walked over to me, took my hand and said some of the most beautiful things which I will never forget (neither will the guests!), he then went down on one knee, pulled out a ring box from his pocket and then proposed! The whole beach clapped and cheered and came over to congratulate us. It was perfect and I will never forget it, partly because I hate causing a scene which is the precise reason Dave proposed in this way!

Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?

The whole of the island I think! Dave stopped every guest we came into contact to tell the news to! We then phoned my parents and Dave texted every contact on his phone, even the takeaway and taxi companies!

Describe your ring.

The main stone is a .75 ct brilliant cut diamond with a .25 pear shaped diamond either side, they are set on a platinum band. It’s beautiful and Dave designed it himself!

Did you help choose the ring?

No Dave designed it and had it made up.

Will your partner wear an engagement ring as well?

No

Did you have an engagement party?

We are holding a party at the end of October.

How many people were invited?

160 people will attend

Did you have a particular theme for your party?

Lilac and Pink which is the colour scheme for the wedding.

When do you plan to marry?

June/July 2010.

What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?

Everything!!!!!!!!!!
