Doug and Sharon Real Engagement Story

Dear Confetti – this is my story! After meeting in early 1998 as flatmates, I think we both knew something really different was happening between us and after two months of intensive flirting and a really fantastic and fun ‘flat’ day out in Brighton we both knew we had very strong feelings for each other. (Pass two and a half years and a moving in together which was widely debated by his mates and cheered on by mine!) We had planned ahead and I chose my ring in September 2000 – I still wanted that little element of surprise of when he asked me and decided not to ask after that.

Cut to December 2000. planning who’s parents to spend Christmas with and who’s to spend New Year with was already planned. I wasn’t surprise when I was asked to book a day off in December, a friday, I had talked to my man and I kind of guessed what was going to happen.

To cut an already long story short, it was the 8th December 2000, he caught me by surprise (sort of!) and got down on one knee, said those four words and made me feel the most special girl in the world. Doug & I are getting married on the 7th May 2002 – our 4 year anniversary!
