Elena and Peter’s Real Wedding By Studio Without Walls
This week we’re sharing Elena and Peter’s Real Wedding by Studio Without Walls. Elena is definitely our type of bride, not only was she inspired by our work, which brought a smile to our faces, but she also designed her own dress. Picking what she liked from different dresses and creating one that is unique just like her is a stroke of genius. We’re also very impressed with the monochrome theme. It’s clear to see the black and white theme added sophistication and elegance to their big day, something the guests will always remember. Enjoy!
Bride and Groom… Elena & Peter
Wedding date… Sunday 25th August 2013
We met… In 2008 at my leaving do, I was moving to Cyprus. We stayed in contact and became friends while I was abroad. In 2010 I moved back to London and we started to spend more time together. After a few months things started to change and the casual social gatherings turned into dates.
The proposal… He took me to London Bridge where we walked alongside the Thames. He was acting quite nervous and after a while he plucked up the courage and got down on one knee.
Length of engagement… 18 months
How did Confetti.co.uk help in your big day? It helped me to choose my theme and got some unusual ideas.
My dress was… Tailor made. I struggled to find a dress that I liked; there was always something not right about the dresses I tried on. I visited a number of different shops with my mum, by the end of it I was fed up. I decided to take bits off different dresses that I liked and have the dress made for me. I was nervous each time I went for a fitting wondering if I had made the right decision, but I’m glad I did it. I also got my bridesmaid dresses made as I wanted something unusual and different.
Our bridesmaids were… 4 of my closet cousins and friends.
Our wedding ceremony was… At The Twelve Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, followed by the reception at Luton Hoo Golf and Spa Hotel, an absolutely amazing place with stunning grounds. We had about 180 guests which is very small for a Greek wedding, but it was exactly what we wanted, a small intimate wedding with our nearest and dearest. My main goal was to make the wedding a fun day and to have a great party.

Our groomsmen were… 8 of our brothers and very close friends.
Our wedding photographer was… Adrian Neal from Studio Without Walls. He was absolutely amazing from day one. We did a pre shoot a few weeks before the wedding which was fun and on the day of the wedding he was brilliant, totally put me at ease. We told him we wanted lots of fun and real photos which he captured beautifully.
Our wedding theme was… Black and white. I wanted it to be elegant and timeless.
Our wedding cake was made by… Nectar patisserie
Our first dance was… Can’t help falling in love by Elvis
Our favourite part of the wedding was… Everything! We loved every minute.
Our wedding was unique and special because… I decided to do things my way and not follow the crowd we put a modern twist to a Greek wedding. My main aim was to make the wedding fun with good entertainment, I had a Greek band that played throughout the evening, Greek dancers to entertain guests and get the party started then I had an amazing soul singer who surprised everyone and got everyone on the dance floor, he was amazing and created a great buzz.
What is your advice for other brides? Don’t Stress! When I started planning the wedding I promised myself I would not become a bag of nerves or a bride-zilla which I managed to uphold and I was able to enjoy planning the wedding. When I did start to stresse I would put everything down and step away and deal with it later, there will be problems but everything can be sorted! Think about what is important to you, for me it was entertainment and I decided to spend more of my budget on that and now that it is over it’s all everyone is talking about.
