How did your partner (or you) propose?
I came home from work on Friday to find the living room of our house lit with candles, a vase of white, yellow, orange and red roses on the table and two glasses of champagne. In the middle of a circle of candles was the ring, and he put it in my hands, opened the box, and asked me to marry him!

Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?
Our mutual friend Rob. Mostly because he knew about it all along and hadn’t even given me a clue which led to me almost screaming down the phone at him for being a big fat liar! =)

Describe your ring.
It’s a spectacular 1.0 carat diamond solitaire set in a platinum band with the most beautiful setting I’ve ever seen.

Did you help choose the ring?
No. He’d asked what I liked when we’d passed jewelers in the past, but I had no hand in it at all. He had the ring made especially for me.

Will your partner wear an engagement ring as well?
No. He wears a ring on his right hand which I bought him years ago, and he’s not a big jewelry fan, so he’ll be happy to wait until we get married.

Did you have an engagement party?
We’re planning to have a dinner with close friends and family at one of our favourite restaurants.

If so, where was it held?
It’ll be at The Sheaf Inn in West Haddon in Northamptonshire.

How many people were invited?
We’re planning on 24 people at the moment, but that’s subject to change.

When do you plan to marry?
September 2008

What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?
Shopping with the bridesmaids for our dresses.
