Through a friend in a our local pub when we live in Dartford, Kent

28 and 31

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

Outside the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas on 3rd April 2007, he went down one one knee!

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

I went on a Dirty Dancing Tribute night

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

Yes we did everything together apart from the dress and his suits.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

I used it for ideas for colour scheme, table and flower arrangements

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

I bought a guest book and bridesmaid gifts

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

I bought it in November 2008 from a local bridal shop where I live in Gravesend, Kent

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had 4 bridesmaids, and 1 flower girl. The adult bridesmaids wore black dresses with a white band to fit in with the colour scheme which was black and white. Also 3 page boys!

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

They were grey suits.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Civil

Where did you hold your ceremony?

The Knowle Country House, Higham, Kent

Where did you hold your reception?

Same as the ceremony, The Knowle Country House

Did you have any special wedding transport?

Yes I had a 1930s style white Beauford.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had 80 guest for the day and extra 45 for the evening reception

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Black and white colour scheme

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

Yes

Did you give your guests favours?

No

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

I had white roses for my bouquet, the bridesmaids had white carnations. I had square vases with roses for head table and square vases with white carnations for the rest of the tables. I used ‘Evergreen Florist’ based in Blackfen.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

Catering was done in house, guests could choose from 3 starter and 3 main prior to the wedding,.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

We had 3 tiers in black and white with a water fountain. We had fruit for top, vanilla and chocolate at the bottom.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a string quartet for the day and DJ in the evening.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We registered with Thomas Cook and people paid towards our honeymoon in Turkey.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We spent our first night in a four poster bed in ‘The Manor Hotel’ in Gravesend.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Once we had exchanged our vows, the speeches and the ride in the car around the village after the ceremony.

Did you experience any “nightmare” moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Lots of family drama!! Mother in law caused issues on the day!

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

I probably wouldn’t use adult bridesmaids, children are much easier to deal with! Also be realistic about the budget when planning.
