How and when did you meet?

We met whilst hubby was on holiday in my home seaside town in Wales.

How old are you both?

I am 23 and he is 31.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

He proposed in a lovely restaurant on bended knee, the whole place stood up and cheered when I said yes!

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

He had a bbq at home with all the lads and us girls went for a dinner/cabaret.

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

He chose and booked the honeymoon as a surprise and told me where we were going in the speeches, which everyone loved!

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

I found great ideas and support from the message forum and found some great suppliers on there.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

Bought the table cameras and personalized teddies for the flower girls online.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

My dress was a blush pink Maggie sottero gown called Amanda, I chose to have swarovski crystals added and it was a fairytale gown. As a plus size girl finding something that is flattering is very difficult but when I put my dress on I felt fab!

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had one adult bridesmaid, my sister and she wore a Venus dress in smoke, which was a dark silver, and two flowergirls who wore heavily beaded silver organza dresses from the USA.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

Wayne had his best friend from college, Lee, and he wore the same as the groom.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Civil ceremony with lots of reading and a rose ceremony.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

The Marble Staircase, Stockport Town Hall

Where did you hold your reception?

Bredbury Hall Hotel

Did you have any special wedding transport?

I had a 1920’s white vintage open top car. Wayne traveled in his dad’s car that he spent 8 months doing up in his late father’s memory.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had 45 in the day and 60 in the evening.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

The colours of the day were pale pink and silver and this ran through to the table centres, etc.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

We had pink large head roses in a goldfish bowl surrounded by petals.

Did you give your guests favours?

The ladies had candles in a silver organza bag, the men had Thorntons chocolates and the children had goodie bags.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

The only flowers used on the day were pale pink akito roses and white roses and lots of diamontes! Our florist was Orchard Designs of Stockport.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

We had vegetable soup, roast chicken (I had salmon) and profiteroles to finish, the hotel catered for us.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

We had a cake from Marks and Spencers, a mix or fruit and sponge, decorated with edible glitter and fresh roses…yummy!

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a string trio for the ceremony and drinks reception and a DJ in the evening.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We had a gift list with Next and accepted cash for our honeymoon.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We spent our first night at Bredbury Hall Hotel and we went to Meedhupparu in the Maldives for 3 weeks on honeymoon.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Waiting with my dad to go down the staircase, walking down the stairs to meet my groom, and the first dance.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Family can be hard work but try and ignore them and enjoy your day!

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Don’t stress about minute details… none of that matters on the day, you are so happy and on a high. Be prepared for the post wedding blues! It is quite hard but passes with time!
