South Shields Town Hall
Sea Hotel
How old are you both?
I’m 22 and Anthony is 25.
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
He proposed on Christmas morning 2005!
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
I bought pretty much all my decorations from confetti!
Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
I traveled from South Shields to your store in Leeds.
Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it
I wore a white Margaret Lee dress. It was strapless with a sweetheart neckline. It was a fitted corset style with crystals and pearls. It had a full satin skirt with a long train which also had crystals and pearls.
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
I had two girls as my bridesmaids. One was 9, the other 7. They wore pink dresses, the skirt was full tulle and satin top with crystals and a matching sash with a gorgeous bow with clusters of crystals in the centre.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
They all wore matching black Prince Edward suits with silver waistcoats, cravats and hankies.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Civil ceremony.
Where did you hold your ceremony?
South Shields Town Hall.
Where did you hold your reception?
Sea hotel.
Did you have any special wedding transport?
1930s Beauford white convertible with white ribbons
How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
35 and 150 to the evening.
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
My theme was pink, silver and white.
How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
We had pink roses in square vases with pink crystals in the bottom as centerpieces, silver favour boxes and poppers, white bubbles, silver heart confetti was sprinkled on all the tables and we had pink and white napkins. Our wedding cake was a two tiered white cake iced with pink rose cluster topper and silver pillars. Heart confetti was sprinkled on the cake table as well.
Did you give your guests favours?
Silver ribbon favour boxes from confetti with the traditional five white sugared almonds. There were white bubbles and poppers and table trivia which all the guests really liked and some took as souvenirs! br/>
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
I had pink roses hand tied with white ribbon. There were little diamonds in the roses. The bridesmaids had little versions of mine except with white roses and pink ribbon. For my husband, best man and fathers, they had white rose buttonholes and mothers had white corsages. The guests wore pink carnations for the women and white carnations for the men.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
Our reception venue supplied all the catering. Starter was homemade vegetable soup with homemade rolls. Main course was a traditional chicken dinner with vegetables and roast potatoes. Desert was mandarin cheesecake which was gorgeous!
What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?
It was made by a small bakery in South Shields called the Kopper Kettle. It was two tiered, white iced with silver pillars. It had a pink rose cluster topper.
Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
Nothing. Everything was perfect. We even had a lovely sunny day which was brilliant!
