How and when did you meet?
We met in April 2001 on Worthing seafront – the same place my grandparents had met in the 1930s. My grandfather was Welsh and so is Lee.
How old are you both?
I am 24 and Lee is 25.
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
Because the seafront is where we first met, Lee proposed to me there on Christmas Eve 2001.
Did you have hen and stag celebrations?
I went on a party bus tour in London and Lee went paint-balling in Surrey.
Did your groom help you with the wedding planning?
Bless him – no. I just love organising things, so he left me to it. I enjoyed every minute.
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
Yes, I used the website to pick up tips from other brides, look for invitation ideas and I bought a lot from your shop – favour boxes, place cards, confetti, love hearts and more.E
Do you have a confetti web page?
No.
Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
Yes – please see above. I bought items over the internet.
Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it.
I had a fantastic Alfred Angelo dress which I bought from Proposals in Chichester. I had my tiara and bridal jewellery designed by the well-known Irresistible Headdresses and I treated myself to a pair of Gina sandals.
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
My bridesmaid was Louisa Hallett, whom I have known since school. She wore an Alfred Angelo dress in lemon – my favourite colour.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
No.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Civil.
Where did you hold your ceremony?
We were married at the Disney Wedding Pavilion in Orlando, Florida
Where did you hold your reception?
At the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – Disney’s flagship hotel.
Did you have any special wedding transport?
We travelled to the wedding ceremony in a limousine.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
We had 10 guests at the wedding. We also held a wedding reception once back home and we had 115 guests. This was held at the Windsor Hotel in Worthing.
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
The colour themes for the wedding and reception were yellows and creams. We also added a splash of gold.
How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
The favour boxes, napkins, table confetti, flowers, cake and balloons were all in our chosen colours.
Did you give your guests favours?
Yes, using cream and gold favour boxes from Confetti, I placed a gold heart-shaped Champagne truffle on top of some confetti. I placed a note, which was printed on parchment inside, thanking guests for their gifts.
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
My bouquet was made of lemon and cream roses and it was hand-tied.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
We went for a meal at a seafood restaurant following the wedding ceremony. For the reception at home, the hotel provided a hot and cold buffet.
What did you choose for your wedding cake?
My mum’s friend made our wedding cake. It was three tiers, two tiers made of fruit cake and one of sponge – to cater for everyone. It was decorated with sugar daisies and lemon ribbon.
Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
Yes, a local DJ from our radio station.
Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
We had lists with Beales of Worthing and Debenhams.
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
Our wedding in Florida was a wedding and honeymoon in one.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
The most memorable moment of the day was the look on Lee’s face when he turned round to look at me while I walked down the aisle. The setting of the wedding was a complete fairytale and something I had always wanted since I was a little girl. I felt just like Cinderella.
Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
Nothing.
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
Nothing. I did find some parts of the planning very stressful, but I miss it now it is all over. Just enjoy every minute.
