How and when did you meet?

We met in a club in 1996.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

We were on holiday in Corfu in the summer of 2000. We had gone in to town to the shops and were walking down a road full of jewellery shops. We went into one and Laurel said ‘pick your ring’. We got engaged there and then!

Did you have hen and stag celebrations?

We got married in Mexico so we had a joint stag and hen at the hotel where all our guests were staying. We spent the day by the pool and had a meal and some drinks at one of the restaurants in the evening.

Did your groom help you with the wedding planning?

He sorted out his outfit and decided on the bridesmaids’ dresses, which was great as it was driving me crazy finding the right dresses.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

I did use confetti. The other brides to be were great with their support and advice.

Do you have a confetti web page?

Yes.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

I bought some bubbles and confetti.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it.

My outfit was a two piece organza skirt and bodice from Ronald Joyce. I bought my tiara and veil from a bridal shop on E-bay. My shoes were from the Bhs wedding range and I jazzed them up with diamontes on the toe and heels.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had my two close friends as bridesmaids. They wore champagne-coloured knee length strapless dresses.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

The best man was his brother who wore a dark suit. We didn’t have any ushers.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

We had a civil ceremony.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

In one of the gazebos in the grounds of The Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico.

Where did you hold your reception?

In a gazebo decorated with lights over looking the sea.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

I arrived in a horse and carriage.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had a total of 18 guests. 11 travelled from London, five from the USA and two we met at the resort. We didn’t have a separate evening guest list but we had a party for 100 people when we returned.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

We didn’t really have a particular theme – it was nicely decorated with fairy lights.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

The hotel decorated the tables with the same flowers as the wedding gazebo. We all sat on one long table.

Did you give your guests favours?

In Mexico we gave our guests gift bags which contained bubbles, disposable cameras, love hearts and a poem. At our reception back home we gave our guests matchbooks.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

My bouquet had white lilies and roses. The bridesmaids had rose corsages and the men had rose buttonholes.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

The hotel provided the meal. We had a hot buffet with a wide choice of food.

What did you choose for your wedding cake?

We had a vanilla sponge heart-shaped cake.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a Mexican Quartet play during our meal.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

No.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

Our honeymoon was part of the wedding package.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

The most memorable moment was arriving in the horse and carriage and seeing the look on Laurel’s face and saying ‘I do’.

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

I wouldn’t change a thing – it was perfect. I know it’s been said before but enjoy every minute of your day. It goes so fast. I’m just glad we have our day on video so I can watch it over and over again.
