How and when did you meet?

We met eleven years ago when I went to work at the same company as Adrian.

How old are you both?

I am 29 and Adrian is 34.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

It was nothing very romantic, we were just out driving in the car when he said maybe we should get married; that was in March this year.

Did you have hen and stag celebrations?

No, we both didn’t really want to; we went out for a meal together a couple of nights before the wedding.

Did your groom help you with the wedding planning?

He just supported me with ideas I had and vice versa.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

I used the message board a lot asking the other brides-to-be for their opinions.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it.

It was a dress by Stewart Parvin in ivory silk zibeline and I bought it as an ex sample from a private sale and saved a fortune.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

We had three bridesmaids, my niece and two of Adrian’s cousins; they wore ivory bridesmaid’s dresses from Next.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

We didn’t have any ushers but Adrian chose his brother as best man.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

We had a civil service.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

We held our service at the Deanwater hotel in Woodford Cheshire.

Where did you hold your reception?

We had our reception at the Deanwater as well.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

No, we wanted everything very informal; I arrived in our own car with my dad as driver.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had about seventy guests come to the wedding with a few more to the evening reception.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Nothing too obvious, everything was mainly ivory, we did have a daisy theme though.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

We had ivory favour boxes with faux daisies on top with mints as fillers.

Did you give your guests favours?

Yes, the daisy favour boxes for the adults and little bags of chocolates for the children.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

I carried a posie of stephanotis flowers and leaves; the bridesmaids had little baskets with ivory and yellow flowers with daisy type flowers to tie in with the theme. We used a local florist where we live, called Fleur Garden; the reception provided the table decorations.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

Our venue provided the catering; we had cream of vegetable soup to start, chicken in red wine for our main course followed by meringue with summer fruit compote.

What did you choose for your wedding cake?

We were pretty relaxed about it, we just told my mother-in-law that we wanted a daisy theme, half fruit half sponge and someone who had been recommended to her made it.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a disco in the evening.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We asked for vouchers from Debenhams.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We stayed over at the Deanwater the first night then went to stay in a cottage in Scotland for our honeymoon which we booked through Welcome Cottages.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Saying our vows.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

I left it until the last minute and our original favour fillings didn’t arrive in time but everything worked out in the end.

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Just don’t worry about little things, they won’t matter on the day and enjoy every minute because it does go very fast.
