How did you meet?
We met in the Summer of 1996, when she was over here on a holiday, she came back and we got engaged in the Summer of 1998. She went back to Canada and returned two weeks before the wedding.

Describe the marriage proposal.
Believe it or not, it was on the telephone.

 

How long did you spend preparing for the day and how was it?
All in all, about 12 months. Sabina had to prepare in Canada and she came over here two weeks before the wedding. She got a lot of clothes made in India.

What type of wedding ceremony did you have and where?
Our wedding was a two day affair. The wedding and then my reception the next day! We got registered the week before at Waltham Forest Registry and got married at East Ham Town Hall – a Muslim ceremony!

Where did you hold your reception and what was it like?
The ceremony was the next day was at Sir James Hawkey Hall in South Woodford.
