How and when did you meet?

At Paul’s house…he he he.

How old are you both?

Paul’s is 24 years old and I am 27 years old.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

Just before Christmas we were shopping for presents and he said “let’s take a walk along the pier” – I said “it’s too cold!” Eventually he got me there and on the pier with people passing by he got down on one knee and proposed – I let out a massive scream of shock & surprise!

Did you have hen and stag celebrations?

Stag – paint balling followed by bowling ending in the curry house with drinks. Hens – spent the weekend at Alton Towers & Spa day at Alton Towers.

Did your groom help you with the wedding planning?

Paul choose the suits.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

The confetti wedding forum is great for planning ideas and tips on where to get things.

Do you have a confetti web page?

No.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

We shopped online, buying orchid table decorations, confetti table trivia, a teddy and for the two mum’s engraved pins.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

The Bridesmaids were my sister & Paul’s niece. They wore Cadbury’s purple bridesmaid dresses from Dagenham’s.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

The Best man was Paul’s oldest brother. The Ushers were my brother, two of Paul’s brothers & our friend

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Church Wedding.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

New Life Church, Worthing.

Where did you hold your reception?

Burlington Hotel.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

We travelled in a BMW.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

There were 250 plus at the wedding, just under 100 at the reception and 150 plus at the evening do.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

As a colour theme we took the purple from Cadbury’s chocolate.

Did you give your guests favours?

Yes – Cadbury’s choc miniatures & wedding trivia in mini gold envelopes

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

We had an array of white & purple flowers. The Bridesmaid’s bouquets were hand-tied white roses with diamonte, pearl and purple feathers.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

The Burlington arranged the menu for us.

What did you choose for your wedding cake?

We had M&S wedding cakes which were decorated by my best-friend’s Mum.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a DJ in the evening.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

No, we didn’t have gift list. We received traditional gifts of money in red envelopes.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We stayed at the Burlington Hotel before our honeymoon which was in the Maldives with the first resort.com

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

When the Pastor (Victor) said who gives this woman & my Dad pausing and then reluctantly saying “I do”.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Yes, literally, while asleep the night before, I dreamt I looked shocking and people sharing the day with us were thinking what does she look like?

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

We wish it would last all week, the day just goes so fast – having an earlier wedding ceremony would help make the most of the day.
