How did your partner (or you) propose?

It was the first night of our holiday in Tunisia. We had booked a beautiful all includive holiday as a treat for us and he couldnt wait so proposed on the first night (or he was too scared of me finding the ring box in his sock in his suitcase)

Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?

Both mine and Andrews family all knew he was planning on proposing while we were there and my family had bets on which night it would happen. Both our parents and my sister & brother in law were in Turkey so we made phone calls to all those and then we text all our friends to tell them our news. The first people we told face to face were a couple we had met during dinner that night

Describe your ring.

A beautiful antique emerald cut diamond ring, 18ct white gold and 1/2 carat.

Did you help choose the ring?

I spotted it about 12 months before he proposed. I instantly fell in love with it. As it was antique there was only one of that kind and I kept checking the shop when I went past to see if it was still there and then one day it was gone and I was heartbroken, little did I know who had bought it!

Will your partner wear an engagement ring as well?

He was going to wear a Bvlagari one he had chosen but he has since decided he would like it for his wedding ring so I bought him a watch instead

Did you have an engagement party?

Yes, we are having it in a couple of weeks

If so, where was it held?

It will be held at a local club where Andrew comes from

How many people were invited?

Approx 100

Did you have a particular theme for your party?

Not really other than deep purple (the colour not the band) and silver. My outfit fits with the colour scheme too 🙂

When do you plan to marry?

Summer of 2012

What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?

Planning all the little details like the place cards, seating plans, flowers etc
