Invitations and Stationery: The Wedding Buyer’s Guide
So you’ve set the date, what now? It’s time to tell the world, (or your friends and family at the very least) by inviting them to the big day! Your wedding invitations are the first glimpse your guests will get of your wedding day, so it’s important to make a good first impression.

Aside from letting your guests know the all‐important details of the day such as date, time and location, your wedding invitations will give them an idea of the tone and theme of your wedding, as well as showcasing your personal taste. Choose wedding stationery to match your colour scheme or wedding theme to give your wedding a coherent style, and select stationery in complementary colours and styles to really wow your guests.

Everybody has such busy lives nowadays that it may prove short‐sighted to send out invitations to your wedding 5 weeks before the event assuming that everyone will be able to make it. To make sure that all your loved ones are present and correct on the big day, it’s a great idea to send out Save the Date cards around 6 months before the wedding. If you are planning a wedding abroad or during busy holiday times like July or Christmas, then it’s wise to send them out even earlier to make sure nobody is double‐booked.
The invitations are also a great opportunity to ask guests about special dietary requirements for the wedding breakfast, or even to hint about your gift list preferences. Though this used to be a massive faux‐pas, it is becoming increasingly popular to include details of the gift list with the invitations to gently point your guests in the right direction (without making any diva demands!)
