Party Stationery
Invitations are by no means the only paperwork you’ll need to arrange! Here’s a quick look at your other party stationery needs
You can use the same theme for all your party stationery, making sure your table decorations match the style of your invitations, adding sophistication to your celebrations.
Menus
Table menu cards can be printed for your guests, but you shouldn’t feel obliged to provide them. You can make these yourself at home with our Print Centre, or a hotel or restaurant may provide them as a matter of course.
Place name cards
If you’re having pre‐arranged seating, place cards can be useful so guests know where to sit. If you put the guest’s name on both sides, they are also a useful aide memoir for guests who have just met each other! You can have them professionally printed but you can also make them yourself on a computer or you can simply write them by hand ‐‐ a calligraphic pen is invaluable here. Note that if your invitations were addressed formally, then place cards should use the same formality, eg an invitation to ‘Jane’ would mean the place card said ‘Jane’, but if you addressed the invitation to Mrs Jane Eccles, then that would be written on the place card.
Seating plans
If you’re having a big, formal party a table planner is usually prepared so guests know where their seats are as they enter the dining room.
Favour boxes
The long‐standing tradition of giving bomboniere to celebrate special occasions was started centuries ago in Italy. These gifts of top quality sugared almonds and are now cropping up at corporate parties, birthdays, anniversaries and even formal dinners at home. Often used at place settings they make a wonderful way of saying ‘thank you’ to your guests. See our range of wedding favours for lots of ideas.
Cake boxes and bags
Small boxes with greaseproof inner linings for sending portions of cake to guests who couldn’t attend are another stationery option. These can be personalised and made to match your overall theme. You can also include compliments cards to dispatch with the cake. Bags can be provided for those guests at the party who prefer to take their piece of cake home. See our range of favour bags and favour boxes.
Other items
Don’t think that you’ve come to the end of the list! There are still monogrammed napkins, napkin rings, drinks mats and matchbooks to be considered. Then there are the more unusual items such as pre‐printed ribbon, balloons and bottle labels. Selecting a few personalised items can be a simple way to create a co‐ordinated look, and of course, they make great mementos!
