Our favourite wedding planner Mark Niemierko is back with his second top tips exclusively for Confetti. This month he shares his top 5 tips for styling your wedding breakfast reception.
- Candles, Candles, Candles
There is nothing better for creating a fabulous impact with minimum cost, but for real impact go overboard and have them everywhere: tables, ledges as well lining pathways. We’ve even put thousands in fields overlooking your reception. - Banqueting Chairs
Dining chairs especially when there’s over a 100 of them in one ballroom or marquee can transfer the space instantly. You can hire in a range of styles such as Cheltenham or Camelot chairs to French dining room and Philip Stark Ghost Chairs. - Chandeliers and Candelabras
Do away with flowers and have your table centres sparkle with wow factor. - Menus and Place settings
To cut down on table clutter merge placecards and menus into one. We recently had the menus cut into circles to fit the charge plates, whilst our calligrapher wrote the guests names at the top of the menu. For children we have used Slate tiles along with coloured chalks as a colourful and entertaining place setting! - Lighting lanterns
Hung in different sizes and at different heights paper lanterns instantly dress a room or ten and are a really cost effective way to add interest and atmosphere. Use all white lanterns for a clean, contemporary look or liven things up with lots of bright colours.
