What size marquee?

The marquee hirer should advise on the marquee size(s) you require, however if you wish to experiment with layouts or plan yourself the following is a guideline for minimum space required in a marquee. Examples are shown in the marquee layouts.

Standing area for 10‐15 people

Round table for 8‐10

Long or oval top table

Buffet area (one area for every 50 guests)

Dance floor (for 60‐90 guests)*

* Knowledge of guests’ age range/willingness to dance may adjust this.

 

  • Ideally allow some additional space in the seating area.
  • Long tables require a similar amount of space to round tables
  • Catering areas would typically be 20ft x 20ft (6m x 6m) but may need to be bigger for large weddings.
